Zach and I have been running around like crazy this week with client meetings, a meeting with an awesome coordinator who we cannot WAIT to work with and brag about, AND we also have been enjoying this cooler weather (a bit TOO cool for my taste right now…).
We have a group of couples from our married Sunday school class that we hang out with and last night some of us went to the Corn Maize in Spring Hill, TN. (Photo compliments of our point and shoot camera… where’s our 5D when we need it? :).
We had a fun time roaming around (with the guys trying to scare us) and then went to Frank & Gaby’s afterwords for hot chocolate and yummy cookies!
! Yaaaaaay! Alexis has put a lot of thought and planning into her day and we cannot wait to capture it and post photos of it! Have a great Halloween everyone!!
) are suuuper great business minded ladies and run the show!
We wanted to give a quick shout out to them and their pretty new website, which just happens to feature photos of your favorite photographer dynamic duo (that would be us). Take a click on the above link and look through!
Yesterday we went to the Get Motivated seminar. Some of the speakers were really great, and others were highly disappointing like Mr. Get Rich Quick if you buy my $4,200 software. *sighs* We were able to attend with friends Daniel & Jaclyn (who we blogged earlier on their engagement session and hanging at Moe’s), and it was really cool to hear Zig Ziglar speak! Tons of people were there and here is a shot we took with our awesome point and shoot…
On another note, we blogged yesterday about Pumpkinfest and getting our photo taken with Tall Creepy Skeleton Guy. Well here is the photo folks, compliments of Mrs. Kristine Neeley :)
Ah, fall… what a great season… True, it’s the busiest time of the year for us, but we love it just the same. This weekend was a rare treat for us – we had it off (the calm before 4 weddings in a row) and we enjoyed it to its fullest!
On Saturday Zach and I went with some friends of ours, Cliff and Kristine, to Pumpkinfest close to home right in downtown Franklin! It’s a big event every year (good luck finding a close parking space) with music, costume contests, children’s activities, a chili cookoff, crafts, dancing, and many other things. We had a nice time enjoying the weather and being with our friends! (We even had our picture taken with a 15 foot tall creepy skeleton guy!).
On Sunday after youth group small groups we went to our dear friend Anna’s house where she was hosting her annual Pumpkin Carving Party. The votes were close, my friends, and Zach and I, for our 2nd year in a row, landed in 2nd place. The theme was 70′s Rock and we thought ours was the most appropriate to win the glowing bobble head mummy trophy, but you really can’t compete with a pumpkin with guts falling out of his head…. *sighs*
Please enjoy our awesome freehand pumpkin with the Flying V guitar, 3D amp, and shaded rocker hand.
This morning we are up early to go to the Get Motivated Business Seminar with some great speakers like Zig Zigler, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Rick Belluzo and others! We are excited – see some of you vendors and friends there!!
For those canvas ordering photographers out there you know what getting this little guy means… More canvases!
We got in our latest canvas order to adorn our studio walls. Info coming really soon on our studio warming party! Stay tuned!
Yesterday we had a Bridal Lifestyle Session on the grounds of Cheekwood with one of our soon-to-be brides who is getting married in 2 weeks from tomorrow!! We can’t post her shots yet, so you’ll have to wait until after the wedding… but she looks grrrrrrrreat!!!
Not that we were looking for one, but Zach and I have found a new calling….
ROCK BAND it is, my friends!
After hanging out with another couple this evening, David and Tammy Molnar, we decided to make a quick trip to good ‘ol Walmart for some office things we needed. Low and behold a grand display was set before us calling out for us to play…
Guitar: Zach Gray
Drums: Jody Gray
Song: Eye of the Tiger
Difficulty Level: Hard
Drum Accuracy: 97% Consecutive Drum Notes in a row: 132
Pink Lady AnnaVery nice!!! I can not get enough of Rock Band - seriously. Personal favorite - More Than A Feeling. We don't have Eye of the Tiger - I'm jealous!
WILLWe were OBSESSED with that game for a long time too!!! You rock the drums Jody!! Born...to be Wiiillllddd! :) Laurie
ashley goinsbe careful, that game is VERY addictive. and you scored a mighty impressive score there on the drums my friend! ;-)
For those wondering – we are settled in and have internet once again!! Woo hoo! Life is good ;o)
In regards to the blog title – not sure why that song popped into my head… well, probably because I’m getting ready to blog about part of our AL wedding trip!!!
So this past weekend, we traveled down to the great state of Alabama – Birmingham to be exact. We had a SUPER awesome time, and what a great couple and families to be around. One could really feel the love and honor Daniel & Brigette had for each other and their relationship with God, and it was so transparent in their marriage ceremony and celebration after. We were so glad we could be a part of it!
We have pulled a few photos from the first part of the day for those who are anxious to see. Enjoy the photos & commentary :)
We started the day off at this amazing piece of property (thanks Karen & family!) and had a blast with the 17 gals in the bridal party…
All 17 attendants!
Then the ladies left, and the guys came out for their photos.
and ceremony time!
and then some shoot time with the couple before the reception…
We are back!! Had a great time in AL and can’t wait to share some of the photos with you all! We are actually relocating our work space tomorrow and moving lots of things, so bear with us as we get re-organized and re-connect our internet and all that other great stuff.
Today we are off to Alabama to shoot the wedding of Daniel & Brigette this weekend! This couple is interestingly connected to us, or at least to me (Jody). The groom is the cousin of my bestest childhood friend in the world, Ashleigh Hancock!
Another fun and interesting fact about this wedding is that Brigette has not 5, not 10, but 17 attendants! With the 7 groomsmen and the bride & groom, that makes the total bridal party number 26!! She’s got a lot of love and as a smart bride, allotted a good amount of time to get photos with all her girls who have meant so much to her. Poor guys, they are by far outnumbered!
Anyway, keep us in your prayers for safe travel and stay tuned for photos!
And here we have some more photos for our avid blog followers from our Lifestyle Engagement session with Eli and Ashley Carol! This great couple gets hitched April 25th of next year and it seems forever away but before we know it, their wedding will be upon us!
This shoot took place around downtown Franklin, and once the sun set we called it a day and grabbed a bite to eat at the Mellow Mushroom.
kovalproductionsLooking at these photos has given me a lot of inspiration in terms of lighting and composition. My favorite photo in the bunch is of the couple against the light post. Your use of a second light in that photo makes the shot. I'm guessing you used a grid spot for that?
Viewing your blog makes me want to get married all over again (to Eric, of course:) ) and have you guys shoot the wedding. Your work is so great! But who has time to plan a re-wedding with two munchkins running all over the place. :)
Have a great weekend!
Jonathon CampbellThese look beautiful. You two totally must've stopped traffic for some of these shots. Right on!
